Announcement of 2nd module of “Toxicologic Pathology Training Program”

News

The current cycle of the “Toxicologic Pathology Training Program” has started this year in May with the “Introduction into ToxicologicPathology”. This program was launched 20 years ago at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (Germany) to give ECVP residents an insight into the diversified and fascinating field of toxicopathology. The current modules will take place not only in Hannover but also in other European countries as hybrid events to expand the scope of the program. Moreover, interested students can participate online free of charge. The second module was organized in cooperation with the University of Barcelona (Spain) and will take place at the 17th October 2025. The expert speakers are coming from the pharmaceutical industry or contract research institutes and will give an overview about the “Pathology of Laboratory Animals and Animal Models of Medical Research”. The third module at the 7th-8th November 2025 will cover the toxicopathology of the hepatobiliary system. Moreover, a comprehensive mock session will be included in this module to provide an opportunity to prepare for the Comprehensive Pathology part of the ECVP exam. We are pleased to announce that registration for the ECVP-ESVP Summer School 2025 is now open! This year, the Summer School will take place in Liverpool (UK), from Monday 20 July until Friday 01 August 2025. This training will be dedicated to Orthopedic Pathology of Companion Animals, and we will have the pleasure of welcoming Professor Dr. Brian Murphy (UC Davis, USA) as well as Dr. Adeline Decambron, (Clinique Vétérinaire HOPia, Guyancourt, France). Postdoctoral fellowship in anatomic veterinary pathology

The Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Turin (UNITO) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in anatomic veterinary pathology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will join an established and collegial pathology team comprising seven anatomic pathologists, two biologists, and a group of young fellows.  The VAPDL is equipped with excellent research support facilities, including a histological lab, an automatic immunostainer, a digital PCR machine, and other instruments for cellular and biological research purposes. Requirements for this position include a DVM degree, appropriate training in veterinary pathology, and achievement of (or eligibility for) certification by the European or American College of Veterinary Pathologists. A PhD degree and a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications are also required. Salary will be commensurate with experience. While knowledge of the Italian language is not initially required, as this position is renewable annually, we recommend at least an elementary knowledge of Italian as a minimum.Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate has been identified.The city of Turin offers numerous opportunities for cultural, sporting, entertainment, and recreational activities.
