2023 ESTP Publication Award – Call for Papers or Theses
NewsDear Colleagues, The European Society of Toxicologic Pathology was founded in 2002 to promote the importance of toxicologic pathology as an independent, specialized area in Europe. To honor advancements in this field, impactful publications (either theses or papers) are annually awarded by the ESTP. We ask for nominations of impactful Theses or Publications in the field of toxicological pathology that were published throughout 2022-2023. Applications for the award will be evaluated by the ESTP award committee, and the best thesis/paper will be honored with 1.500 Euros. The award for this year will be presented at the 2023 ESTP annual meeting in Basel, Switzerland, September 26-29, 2023. It is mandatory that the recipient attends the awards ceremony. The admission fee for this meeting will be waived. The recipient will be notified in July. NewsDear attendees, A mystery slide session will be held on Saturday 10th September at the ECVP/ESVP Congress in Athens. This year the theme will be Oncology. If you have a fun, unusual, complex or challenging case, or a case with outstanding clinical repercussion, please consider submitting it as a mystery case. We are especially looking for cases where novel therapeutic approaches or specific outcomes related to prognostic variables could be included. True “unsolved mysteries” are highly encouraged for the sake of a good discussion. Please send your submissions to session chairs:Prof. Laura Peňa laurape@vet.ucm.es and Prof. Paola Roccabianca paola.roccabianca@unimi.itwith the subject line “(Your name) Oncology Session Mystery Slide Case Submission” and attach the following: A single pdf document consisting of a summary of the case (250 words maximum) including• title, your name, institution, and contact information (e-mail address mandatory),• signalment, short history, summary of representative gross and microscopic findings, any additional supporting data, e.g. clonality• no more than five good quality images (histo +/- gross +/- special stains including histochemistry and immunohistochemistry and any other useful technique such as EM etc.) that are representative of the lesion. Deadline for submissions is 30th June 2022. Decisions on cases chosen for the session will be made no later than 15th July and submitters will be informed by e-mail.
